Internship Benefits and Responsibilities

Goals: Provide the life changing non-profit with support as it works to improve the lives of our trafficking survivors.  Provide a productive learning experience about the rewards and challenges that many young nonprofits face.  With this being said, we try to let our interns experience as many aspects of our organization since we are often faced with wearing many hats. We have worked with several interns in the past and some have remained on our volunteer rooster.  We have been able to learn from them as we hope they have learned from us.  We have a versatile volunteer base with an array of experience in many different areas of expertise and feel that we can represent a well rounded experience for our interns.  

 

Reporting and Collaboration: The intern will report to our Executive Director, Kristan Crummett-Dollar or our board secretary Layla Gravely. Other collaborators will include department coordinators, our store manager and our volunteers.  

 

Responsibilities can include the following:  

• Direct services with our survivors.

• Educating the public through store opportunities.

• Accompanying our speakers for outreach events.

• participating with our fundraising committee in planning and executing fundraising events.

• Administrative duties as needed.

• Research to include other organizations that we need for our resource list and educational material for training our volunteers.

• Working on our social media accounts and web-site if well versed in those areas.

 

Acquire your required hours as needed and within your availability.

Complete our background checks.
